Senior Producer, Harlingen, TX

About the role

KVEO seeks a Senior Producer to join the team for weekend newscasts on NBC 23 and CBS Rio Grande Valley. The senior producer will play a key role in devising the editorial, executing strategic plans for the stations, and coordinating show production for the newscasts.

Responsibilities

• Plan weekend coverage
• Assist anchor in setting show's editorial direction
• Pitch story ideas
• Build rundowns for newscasts as well as breaking news and special programming
• Copy edit scripts, content, and digital stories
• Serve as a leader in the newsroom
• Fill in as line producer as needed
• Booth shows
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by management
• Operate software for CTV (vMix, OBS)
• Publish digital content on WordPress and social media platforms

Requirements

• Four or more years of editorial experience
• Must be self-directing, self-motivating, and able to work well with others
• Must be detail-oriented
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Must have excellent writing and copy-editing skills
• Must have considerable line producing experience
• Must be able to handle high-pressure and high-intensity situations with poise and maturity
• Must be able to work assigned shifts and be on call
