About the role

The Senior Process Mechanical Engineer will join Garver's Water Design Center team in Greenville, SC. They will be part of a multi-discipline team responsible for process design and management across various Water Services Group projects.

Responsibilities

  • Taking projects from conceptual planning to bid-ready documents, including facility and equipment layouts, design calculations, process modeling, equipment vendor coordination, and support of support discipline activities.
  • Leading the design of water and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Supporting the evaluation, selection, and implementation of water and wastewater process.
  • Conducting hydraulic analysis of water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Selecting and designing pumps, chemical storage and feed systems, blowers, mechanical equipment, piping and instrumentation drawings, and specifications.
  • Producing construction drawings and 3D models.
  • Overseeing construction projects.
  • Participating in client meetings and industry conferences as a subject matter expert.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or biosystems/agricultural engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • 10+ years of similar project design experience with an engineering consulting firm.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

Preferred Attributes

  • A Master’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, mechanical, or biosystems/agricultural or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience with lift stations, booster pump stations, chemical feed, and water/wastewater treatment.
  • Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team comprised of civil, structural, building mechanical, electrical, and Instrumentation and control disciplines.
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with multi-discipline project teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
  • Active participation in local professional organizations.
