About the role

The Senior Process Engineer is a key member of the site Process Engineering Department as well as a critical support member of Business Teams. The process engineering team is dedicated to being the technical leaders that drive the highest value solution for our partners. You will be joining a technical community of 30+ chemical engineers dedicated to the troubleshooting, optimization, and design improvement of the refinery units. What You Will Do

  • Build and expand technical network internally and externally to the company
  • Develop value creation ideas and projects, economic analysis for assigned units and technologies
  • Monitor long-term unit performance against industry benchmarks
  • Support unit monitoring for Hydroprocessing technologies (Hydrocracker, Distillate Hydroprocessing, Naphtha Hydroprocessing)
  • Audit unit performance reports and long-term calculations
  • Review and support benchmark studies (Solomon)
  • Ensure the technical basis of projects meets business objectives
  • Mentor and support Production Engineers during unit troubleshooting, unit monitoring, PHAs, critical procedures, monthly Business Review meetings
  • Support high-profile unit troubleshooting as needed
  • Direct and assist Operations for the design of experiments and process guidelines
  • Own the Process Engineer modeling programs
  • Build out the technology loop model using different software such as HYSYS to drive economic decision-making in unit operations
  • Support other Physics-based modeling programs
  • Provide turnaround program technical support and technical scoping as needed
  • Contribute to process safety and environmental performance through Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) programs, Management of Changes (MOC), investigations team member or leader

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of refining or chemical plant process engineering experience
  • Previous experience with Hydrocracking, Distillate Hydroprocessing, and Naphtha Hydroprocessing units

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Fifteen (15) + years of refinery experience
  • Five (5) years of experience as a Process Engineer or Project Engineer leading projects in an oil refinery
  • Process modeling simulation with Aspen HYSYS
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification Credentialing (TWIC) rule and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for un-escorted access to the facility within a specific time period.
