Role Description
The Senior Process Design Engineer will collaborate within a strong and supportive team environment to deliver innovative solutions for clients. Role Accountabilities
- Lead innovative mechanical design and process integration for cutting-edge treatment facilities, reservoirs, and pumping or lift stations.
- Develop comprehensive construction documents and detailed specifications for critical systems, including pumps, valves, gates, and other mechanical components.
- Establish the basis of design, complete in-depth calculations, and deliver robust solutions tailored to each project’s unique challenges.
- Perform thorough assessments, meticulously size and select equipment, develop and evaluate design options with accurate cost estimates, and prepare technical memoranda to clearly document your rationale and recommendations.
- Ensure seamless coordination among various engineering disciplines, benefiting from a fully integrated design approach.
- Develop process flow narratives, conduct hydraulic analyses, and actively participate in project management activities such as budget and schedule tracking.
- Support business development efforts, contribute to compelling proposals, and mentor junior engineers to ensure rigorous quality control reviews.
Key Skills and Attributes
- Proficient in mechanical design standards and experience in design bid-build or alternative delivery projects.
- Strong working knowledge of CAD and BIM and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.S. in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or related field) and 10 years of relevant experience in process mechanical engineering for water and wastewater facilities.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of California.
- Mechanical or Civil P.E. preferred.
- 15+ years of relevant experience in process mechanical engineering for water and wastewater facilities.

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $121,651 - $194,304. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
