As a Hardware Lead, you'll own the technical, cost, and schedule aspects of projects, leading teams of electrical, mechanical, optical, RF, firmware engineers, and designers. You'll collaborate with program engineers and business leads to deliver hardware solutions designed for harsh environmental conditions, emphasizing affordability, manufacturing, quality, and reliability. This hybrid role combines in-person and remote work.
This position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and shape multi-disciplinary teams (electrical, mechanical, optical, RF, firmware engineers, and designers).
- Own the engineering technical, cost, and schedule aspects of projects.
- Develop and deliver hardware solutions designed to survive harsh environmental conditions.
- Focus on affordability, manufacturing, quality, and reliability to exceed customer expectations.
- Partner with program engineers and business leads to drive project success.
- Implement a "design it right the first time" philosophy.
- Support new business capture and proposal teams with hardware engineering cost/schedule estimates.
- Develop and implement design solutions, processes, and systems within budget and schedule requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or higher, with 10+ years of relevant experience leading engineering teams.
- Proven experience developing, implementing, and monitoring project schedules, budgets, and productivity metrics.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams (electrical, mechanical, technicians, designers, PCB layout).
- Experience with design and development of products and services.
- Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current DoD Security Clearance.
- Experience implementing established Hardware Engineering design processes for product quality and consistency.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills for interfacing with company personnel, customers, and suppliers.
- Experience supporting new business capture and proposal teams.
- Knowledge/experience with complex electrical and printed circuit board designs.
- Knowledge/experience with opto-mechanical designs and developments.
- Experience with missile seeker development, lasers, optics, and/or related IR technologies.
- Experience with RF technologies design.
- Experience designing for manufacturability.
- Experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE) and Agile development processes.
- Certification for Earned Value Management System (EVMS) project management technique.
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $136,000 - $231,200. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience.
