About the role

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting the LTAMDS and GhostEye Radars. This position spans the full product lifecycle—from concept to deployment—and involves cross-disciplinary collaboration to troubleshoot, analyze data, and implement solutions for mission-critical defense systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop requirements, algorithms, concepts of operations, and system interfaces.
  • Lead testing efforts: create and execute test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in simulated and real-world environments.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
  • Develop and execute models to predict system performance and support verification and validation.
  • Integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating functionality and impact.
  • Create integration documentation, execute plans, analyze data, and verify requirements.
  • Conduct statistical and numerical analysis of radar performance data to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Present technical findings and solutions to leadership and customers.
  • Travel up to 20% to support mission execution at RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in systems software, hardware, requirements, integration, and/or test.
  • Experience developing scripts and functions with MATLAB.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DOORS, Rhapsody, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools.
  • Model-based engineering experience.
  • Experience developing and managing requirements.
  • Proficiency in C++, Python, or similar languages.
  • Experience generating technical documentation (e.g., test plans, procedures, reports).
  • Experience in integration labs, test facilities, or field support for integration/verification.
  • Experience evaluating systems using simulated environments.
  • Experience interfacing with internal and external customers.

Pay

Salary range: $132,400 – $251,600 USD. Benefits eligibility depends on business unit and collective-bargaining agreements.
