About the role

Involved with the analysis, design, development, and implementation of new and/or existing systems/sub-systems. Responsibilities span architectural design, requirements engineering, and technology leadership across multiple engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Determine system specifications and support acquisition of hardware, software, or subcontractor services.
  • Drive technology projects to completion on time and within budget.
  • Design, develop, analyze, document, and test products, systems, or subsystems.
  • Complete technical projects independently and mentor/coach other engineers.
  • Review customer specifications and develop cost-effective designs.
  • Lead major problem resolution efforts and support customer relationship recovery.
  • Serve as a key member of new business capture teams, providing budget, cost, and schedule input.
  • Document component/subsystem specifications and material requirements.
  • Provide higher-level product line architecture and guidance to multiple development teams.
  • Attend engineering, customer, or business meetings and actively support new business pursuits.
  • Develop trusted engineering contacts with customers and integrate into their design teams.
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services.
  • Support design-to-cost and design-for-manufacture requirements.
  • Develop prototypes to mitigate key development risks.
  • Communicate clearly with manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and customers.
  • Participate in preparation of complex and significant proposals.
  • Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel.
  • Interact with technical management and other professionals to coordinate activities and progress.
  • Mentor and coach less-experienced engineers.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the organization’s mission, values, and culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Mastery of technologies and domain knowledge.
  • Significant experience in multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to lead major problem resolution efforts and support customer partnerships.
