About the role
Involved with the analysis, design, development, and implementation of new and/or existing systems/sub-systems. Responsibilities span architectural design, requirements engineering, and technology leadership across multiple engineering disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Determine system specifications and support acquisition of hardware, software, or subcontractor services.
- Drive technology projects to completion on time and within budget.
- Design, develop, analyze, document, and test products, systems, or subsystems.
- Complete technical projects independently and mentor/coach other engineers.
- Review customer specifications and develop cost-effective designs.
- Lead major problem resolution efforts and support customer relationship recovery.
- Serve as a key member of new business capture teams, providing budget, cost, and schedule input.
- Document component/subsystem specifications and material requirements.
- Provide higher-level product line architecture and guidance to multiple development teams.
- Attend engineering, customer, or business meetings and actively support new business pursuits.
- Develop trusted engineering contacts with customers and integrate into their design teams.
- Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services.
- Support design-to-cost and design-for-manufacture requirements.
- Develop prototypes to mitigate key development risks.
- Communicate clearly with manufacturing, supply chain, program management, and customers.
- Participate in preparation of complex and significant proposals.
- Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel.
- Interact with technical management and other professionals to coordinate activities and progress.
- Mentor and coach less-experienced engineers.
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the organization’s mission, values, and culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Mastery of technologies and domain knowledge.
- Significant experience in multiple engineering disciplines.
- Ability to lead major problem resolution efforts and support customer partnerships.
