Responsibilities

  • Lead civil and structural engineering activities from concept development through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning.
  • Provide technical leadership for the analysis and design of foundations, steel structures, pipe racks, equipment supports, and tall framed structures.
  • Serve as Civil/Structural Discipline Lead on major projects, ensuring engineering deliverables meet scope, schedule, quality, and budget requirements.
  • Develop, review, and approve structural calculations, specifications, reports, drawings, and design packages.
  • Establish design criteria and technical requirements for project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and Worley quality expectations.
  • Coordinate engineering activities across multiple disciplines, offices, and Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teams.
  • Support project planning activities, including engineering estimates, schedules, staffing plans, and execution strategies.
  • Monitor project performance and communicate engineering status, risks, and opportunities to project stakeholders.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, constructability evaluations, and value improvement initiatives.
  • Support procurement and construction activities through technical evaluations, vendor reviews, field support, and issue resolution.
  • Review and approve engineering deliverables prepared by engineers and designers.
  • Provide technical mentoring, coaching, and professional development support to junior and mid-level engineering staff.
  • Represent the civil/structural discipline during client meetings, technical reviews, and project discussions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote the adoption of innovative engineering practices and technologies.
  • Conduct site visits and field walkdowns, as required, to support project execution and construction activities.

Requirements

Technical and Industry Experience

  • Extensive experience leading civil and structural engineering design for chemical, power, industrial, or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, ASTM, and PIP.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong experience in structural analysis, steel design, foundation design, and construction support activities.
  • Proficiency with STAAD Pro, STAAD Foundation, Mat3D, RISA 3D, and connection design software.
  • Familiarity with Trimble Connect, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers and designers while maintaining technical excellence and project quality.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and customer-focused project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • 15+ years of progressive civil/structural engineering experience supporting industrial projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading structural engineering scope on major capital projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for registration in the State of West Virginia.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, OneNote).
