Senior Principal Software Engineer
Accountabilities
The Senior Principal Software Engineer will provide technical leadership across the software development lifecycle, driving architectural excellence, engineering standards, and long-term platform evolution. This role requires a balance of strategic thinking, hands-on development, and cross-functional influence.

Leading the architectural direction of the platform across frontend, backend, integrations, and supporting services.

Designing scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions aligned with business goals and technical strategy.

Evaluating complex architectural trade-offs and providing clear technical recommendations.

Establishing engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices to improve consistency and quality across teams.

Contributing directly to the development of high-quality software across the technology stack.

Reviewing code, system designs, and technical approaches to ensure engineering excellence.

Leading investigations into complex production issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing long-term solutions.

Driving improvements in development processes, tooling, observability, performance, and operational reliability.

Mentoring Senior Engineers and technical leaders through coaching, knowledge sharing, and technical guidance.

Influencing technical decisions by building alignment across engineering teams and business stakeholders.

Communicating complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

10+ years of professional software engineering experience.

Extensive experience developing and maintaining production-grade frontend and backend applications.

Proven expertise designing and architecting large-scale, distributed, cloud-based systems.

Strong knowledge of software design principles, system architecture, and engineering best practices.

Exceptional debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis capabilities.

Experience leading complex technical initiatives across multiple teams and systems.

Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop Senior Engineers and technical leaders.

Strong architectural thinking with the ability to make long-term technical decisions.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

Able to influence teams, build consensus, and drive change without relying on formal authority.

Strong curiosity, adaptability, ownership mindset, and confidence navigating ambiguous technical challenges.

Experience in high-growth SaaS or enterprise software environments is preferred.

Expertise with cloud-native architectures, platform modernization, scalability, and reliability initiatives is highly desirable.

Experience establishing engineering frameworks, technical governance processes, and operational excellence practices is a plus.
