Senior Principal Program Cost Control Analyst - Finance

About the role

At Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector in Dulles, VA, the Senior Principal Program Cost Control Analyst – Level 4 will play a pivotal role in supporting missions critical to national and global security. This position is 100% onsite with a 9/80 schedule, providing every other Friday off.

Responsibilities

• Prepare budgets and schedules for contract work.
• Conduct financial analyses including funding profiles, sales outlooks, cash forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate expenditure records, directing expenditure projections, and submitting timely funding requests to the government.
• Set up and monitor cost control systems and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control systems.
• Support audits, reviews, fact-finding, and negotiation activities requested by programs, customers, and company management.
• Perform Earned Value Metric (EVM) tasks including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development, budget baseline, cost risk analysis/assessment, and visibility reports.
• Develop and analyze estimates to complete and ensure contracts remain within negotiated parameters and government cost control guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience.
• Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active U.S. Government Top-Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
• Experience with financial analysis or reporting.
• Experience with MS Office Suite.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business Administration.
• Defense industry experience.
• Earned Value Management (EVM) experience.
• Program Cost Control experience.
• Experience with FAR/DFAR.
• Experience with Costpoint, Cobra, Primavera, or SAP.

Clearance

Top Secret clearance required for start.

Travel

Up to 10% of the time.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 – $176,300.00. Base salary is determined by position scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Eligibility for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply.
