Senior Principal Engineer, Software Engineering

About the role

Position at Rockwell Collins located in Cedar Rapids, IA. Travel to India for one week at a time up to once per year. Travel to Canada to support customer meetings up to one week duration up to twice per year.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• At least 10 years progressive experience as a Software Engineer or related role in the avionics industry (or Master's degree plus 7 years).

Qualifications

• 5 years experience with aircraft systems, avionics software, and DO-178B/C development and certification processes.
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM), Configuration and Asset Management (CAM), Change Management, Risk Management.
• Working knowledge of project schedules (IMS) and month-end reconciliation activities.
• Experience working with and leading Agile methodologies.

Skills

• Developing and verifying software for real-time embedded systems using C and MATLAB/Simulink modeling.
