Senior/Principal Biostatistcian Consultant remote (Infectious Disease
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Serve as study statistician or support statistician on Bronchiectasis or Hepatitis B programs
- Responsible for protocol development including study design, sample size calculation, randomization, and statistical analysis plan for assigned studies.
- Provide statistical oversight to studies and assure adequate quality and consistency with project requirements.
- Ensure data completeness, accuracy, and consistency for statistical analyses.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of statistical input into reports or decisions.
- Ensure validity of analysis and alternative analysis strategies when unforeseen circumstances arise.
- Demonstrate extensive understanding of statistical concepts and methodologies.
- Recognize and correct flaws in scientific reasoning and statistical interpretation.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of statistical tables, figures, and data listings, accuracy of report text, and consistency between summary tables in the body of reports and the corresponding source tables and listings.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of the statistical methods section for the reports.
- Identify and correct common flaws in interpretation of results, inconsistency in presentation or inference, adherence to the report guidelines, and assure project-wide consistency.
Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics or related field.
- High degree of technical competence.
- Understanding of Poisson regression or negative binomial methods, time to event, or multiple imputation methods.
- Competent in experimental design, descriptive and inferential statistics.
- Pharmaceutical or related industry experience with clinical trials.
- Vaccines or infectious disease experience preferred but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent programming skills (SAS/R).
