Senior PR Specialist
About the role
The Senior PR Specialist, Northeast, supports the development and execution of PR initiatives in conjunction with the Director of PR, Northeast, to further position Cushman & Wakefield as the global authority in the built environment. This individual will support regional external communications and public relations efforts to promote and protect the Cushman & Wakefield brand by leveraging business partners and key media relationships.
This role supports all PR initiatives, including assisting with drafting written collateral such as press releases and award submissions, creating media pitches, networking with reporters, staffing events and interviews, managing social media needs, and more. Candidates should be able to take a variety of information, data, and research content and create compelling stories that will resonate with news media across verticals including commercial real estate trades.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with regional leadership, brokers, local research and marketing teams, and other stakeholders to align PR strategies with business objectives and priorities.
- Draft, edit, and/or pitch written collateral for the Northeast region, including press releases, pitches, awards, biographies, bylines, emails, letters, and one-pagers.
- Publicize the firm’s key transactions, research insights, personnel updates, major wins, and market trends to generate media coverage.
- Track Northeast media coverage, including mentions of research and interviews with key spokespeople.
- Support organization of files and/or tools that aid workflow and output tracking for the Northeast PR team.
- Build, foster, and maintain relationships with key media contacts, including reporters and editors from trade, local, and regional publications.
- Attend events where Cushman & Wakefield spokespeople are speaking.
- Staff media interviews as needed.
- Actively pursue award opportunities for the Northeast region; assist with creation of award entries as well as lists and rankings.
- Assist with paid media as needed.
- Research speaking opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- 2-4+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, marketing communications, or a related field; ideally within the commercial real estate industry or agency environment.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to synthesize research, market data, and complex information into clear, compelling content.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across teams.
- Demonstrated interest in media relations, storytelling, and earned media.
- Proactive, resourceful, and collaborative with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with media monitoring or media database platforms such as Cision or Meltwater is a plus.
- Interest in commercial real estate, business, or the built environment is preferred.

Pay
The compensation for this position is $85,000.00 - $100,000.00, depending on factors such as geographic location, date of hire, total hours worked, job type, business line, and applicability of collective bargaining agreements. The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
