About the role

Public Content is a Houston-based public relations, marketing, and consulting firm focused on the future. We're a think tank-style incubator with a singular mission: to build brand awareness and increase revenue by combining a healthy mix of media relations – both traditional and social – big picture consultation, community outreach and content creation.

We are seeking to hire a Senior Account Manager to work under the direction of the VP of Media Relations, creating highly visible PR campaigns and garnering ongoing press placement for their clients.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing Jr Account Manager and assisting with account
  • Assisting Directors in representing PC at charitable/professional events
  • Identifying ways to grow existing accounts
  • Running accounts without the help of Directors
  • Leading internal team kick-off (new clients), and ongoing internal team meetings
  • Leading account goal setting
  • Coordinating meetings with Clients and Stakeholders, including meeting agendas
  • Leading day-to-day client communication
  • Creating shot lists and attending photo shoots for editorial assets
  • Managing 30-60-90 rolling plan
  • Creating comprehensive pr / event plans for launches
  • Managing media and community outreach and pitching, including outlet deadlines
  • Responsible for drafting press announcements (before going to PR Sr. Directors) and creating media lists for each client
  • Proactively staying up to date with digital and social trends, monitoring competitors and digital influencer activity across social content
  • Collecting tenant events and promotions for media outreach and developing newsletter content (if applicable)
  • Managing activity report (monthly status update)
  • Expected to take their own notes in meetings as well as send internal recap to clients
  • Setting up Sharepoint and Dropbox folders for team – overseeing maintenance of all client folders

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of paid agency experience in the field of Public Relations or Marketing
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent writing skills and experience in writing pitches and press releases
  • Strong verbal skills and ability to act as spokesperson to news media on behalf of client
  • Available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint
