About the role

Manages complex data analysis, business intelligence, Power Apps development, automation, and reporting projects with limited supervision from initial request through delivery of actionable results. This role supports enterprise compliance, risk, operations, governance, and executive reporting initiatives by translating business objectives into scalable Power Apps, Power Platform, Power BI, and data analytics solutions.

The Senior Operations Data Analyst designs, develops, tests, deploys, and maintains data-driven business applications and reporting solutions that improve operational efficiency, compliance visibility, decision-making, user experience, workflow transparency, and business process consistency. The role combines advanced data analysis, Power Apps solution design, automation, application development, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and project management capabilities to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within scope.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex data analysis, dashboard, automation, and Power Apps development projects with limited supervision from initial request through presentation of results, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support Canvas and Model-Driven Power Apps that improve operational efficiency, user experience, structured data capture, workflow visibility, compliance tracking, governance processes, and field or office business operations.
  • Build intuitive, user-centered Power Apps with clear navigation, effective screen design, role-based experiences, embedded business rules, validation logic, forms, galleries, approvals, and data-entry controls that reduce manual work and improve data quality.
  • Integrate Power Apps with SharePoint Online, Dataverse, Power Automate, Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, Excel, SQL databases, APIs, Power BI, and other enterprise data sources or systems to create connected end-to-end business solutions.
  • Apply Power Apps governance, solution lifecycle management, documentation, testing, version control, environment strategy, permissions, access controls, and support practices to ensure applications are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Design analyses, reports, dashboards, scorecards, and data models to achieve business objectives; process, cleanse, validate, and analyze data to develop clear findings, trends, profiles, KPIs, and actionable insights tailored to specific audiences.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, executive reporting solutions, operational reports, compliance reports, KPI scorecards, and self-service analytics products that support risk, compliance, governance, and performance management activities.
  • Design and implement scalable semantic models, datasets, dimensional data models, fact and dimension tables, data relationships, and DAX calculations to support enterprise reporting needs and large data sets.
  • Create advanced DAX measures, calculated columns, KPIs, time intelligence calculations, running totals, period-over-period comparisons, dynamic measures, and statistical calculations; monitor and improve Power BI performance through model optimization and best practices.
  • Design and maintain Power Automate workflows that automate approvals, notifications, document management, data refreshes, reporting processes, and other repeatable business activities connected to Power Apps and enterprise reporting solutions.
  • Manage complex data extracts, list pulls, data transfers, and data integration activities while ensuring accuracy, consistency, quality, governance, and appropriate security controls.
  • Create automated data routines, ETL/ELT processes, Power Query transformations, and reporting refresh processes to support efficient and accurate data manipulation, cleansing, and delivery.
  • Implement row-level security, data governance controls, lifecycle management practices, and reporting standards to support secure and reliable business intelligence and Power Platform solutions.
  • Gather and document business requirements, facilitate stakeholder workshops and solution design sessions, translate business needs into technical requirements, prototype Power Apps concepts, and provide user training, documentation, and knowledge-transfer support.
  • Develop and communicate clear, concise, and actionable analyses, findings, recommendations, and presentations for clients, business partners, and leadership audiences.
  • Identify opportunities for Power Apps development, automation, analytics, data quality improvements, database enhancements, process optimization, and continuous improvement using Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, and related technologies.

Deliverables

  • Production-ready Canvas and Model-Driven Power Apps solutions that support business processes, compliance tracking, governance workflows, structured data capture, and operational decision-making.
  • Power Apps prototypes, user interface designs, data-entry forms, role-based experiences, app documentation, testing evidence, release notes, and knowledge-transfer materials.
  • Automated business processes using Power Automate, including workflows connected to Power Apps, SharePoint, Dataverse, Outlook, Teams, and enterprise reporting processes.
  • Executive and operational Power BI dashboards, compliance, risk, governance, and performance reporting products.
  • Enterprise semantic data models, datasets, KPIs, and DAX-based reporting solutions.
  • Automated reporting, data refresh, data extraction, and data delivery processes.
  • Clear analytical findings, recommendations, user guides, technical documentation, and training materials.
  • Recommendations for ongoing Power Apps enhancement, automation, analytics, database, and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of related work experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, operations analytics, database management, automation, Power Apps development, or application development.
  • Prior utility experience (4 years).
  • Specific Power Apps domain knowledge (building, releasing, and maintaining Power Apps solutions for teams) and other Power Platform skills such as Power BI, Power Automate, and Dataverse experience.
  • Cross-functional requirements gathering and partnership experience.
  • Experience designing, building, deploying, and supporting Canvas or Model-Driven Power Apps in a business or enterprise environment.
  • Experience developing Power BI dashboards, enterprise reporting solutions, data models, or KPI scorecards.
  • Experience using Microsoft Power Platform technologies such as Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft 365.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced data analysis, data processing, data visualization, and reporting skills with ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills, including complex formulas, graphing, VBA, data manipulation, and reporting automation.
  • Advanced skill writing SQL queries using Oracle, Business Objects, SQL Server, or related database technologies.
  • Proficiency with Power Apps, including Canvas apps, Model-Driven apps, forms, galleries, components, connectors, formulas, validation logic, role-based functionality, app testing, app deployment, app documentation, and user support.
  • Proficiency with Power BI, DAX, Power Query, data modeling, semantic models, star schema design, fact and dimension tables, data relationships, and dashboard design.
  • Proficiency with Power Automate, SharePoint Online, Dataverse, Microsoft 365, Teams, Outlook, Excel, and workflow automation concepts.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform governance, application lifecycle management, environment strategy, security roles, permissions, solution packaging, release management, and maintainability practices.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes, REST APIs, data warehousing, data governance, data quality controls, and row-level security.
  • Familiarity with utility operations, compliance, risk management, audit, governance, or executive reporting environments.
  • Knowledge of UNIX shell programming, base-SAS, Visual Basic, Perl, C, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, or other data platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to independently prioritize work, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work products with limited supervision.
  • Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, including ability to tailor findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, project management, and continuous improvement skills.

Pay

Hourly rate: $60.00–$67.00.
