Senior Portfolio Manager, Emerging Market Debt
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). Use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits, and
for prose. Do NOT repeat the job title as a heading (the page already shows it) and do NOT put Job ID / requisition numbers as headings — fold minor metadata into a short
or drop it. Preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. Remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate, duplicated lines, and application instructions. IMPORTANT: include a section ONLY when the posting has real, specific content for it — never emit a heading followed by filler/placeholder text (e.g. "commensurate with experience", "not specified", "N/A", "varies", "TBD") and never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them. Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones.
We need to decide which sections to include: About the role (maybe a summary), Responsibilities, Qualifications (or Requirements), Benefits, Pay. Also maybe Skills? The posting includes "Job Summary" which is about role. Then "Job Responsibilities And Duties". Then "Leadership Competencies". Then "Job Qualifications". Then "Additional Information" includes location (on-site in Minneapolis, MN). Then "Pay Transparency" includes salary range. Then benefits list.
We should not include Schedule (no info). So sections: About the role (maybe from Job Summary + company description?), Responsibilities, Qualifications (maybe combine Required and Preferred?), Benefits, Pay.
We need to ensure we don't create sections with filler. All have content.
We need to output only HTML fragment, no /, no markdown fences.
We'll produce something like:
About the role
We exist to help people achieve financial clarity. At Thrivent, we believe money is a tool, not a goal. Driven by a higher purpose at our core, we are committed to providing financial advice, investments, insurance, banking and generosity programs to help people make the most of all they’ve been given. At our core, we are a membership-owned fraternal organization, as well as a holistic financial services organization, dedicated to serving the unique needs of our clients. We focus on their goals and priorities, guiding them toward financial choices that will help them live the life they want today—and tomorrow. The Emerging Markets Debt Portfolio Manager is a senior member of the Fixed Income Investments team responsible for the management of the Thrivent Core Emerging Market Debt Fund and the Emerging Market Debt (EMD) exposure in the Thrivent Core Plus Bond ETF. Develops and communicates team’s emerging market outlook and strategies for implementation across Thrivent’s various mixed asset accounts, mutual funds, and ETFs.
Responsibilities
- Portfolio management of the Thrivent Core Emerging Markets Debt Fund.
- Provide input to Thrivent Core Plus Bond ETF team for recommended EMD aggregate exposure and country weighting, as well as views on appropriate new EMD issues.
- Develop and communicate the EMD team’s emerging market outlook and strategies for implementation while contributing to broader asset allocation decisions across Thrivent’s various mixed asset accounts, mutual funds, and ETFs.
- Continually stay abreast and have an opinion on countries in the JPM EMBI Diversified Index, dynamics of the global economy, key commodity markets and capital markets with the goal of formulating overall strategies for funds under management and sharing views with other portfolio managers with EMD exposure.
- Conduct in-depth, independent sovereign and quasi-sovereign credit analyses, evaluating political risk factors, fiscal policy, and global macroeconomic trends.
- Interact with internal and external research and trading personnel in executing strategic and tactical moves with portfolio assets.
- Responsible for all EMD credit research that supports all portfolios in the organization with EMD exposure.
- Generate superior performance relative to benchmark while minimizing overall assumed risk to achieve performance.
- Communicate EMD market strategy, performance updates, and risk metrics, to multiple constituencies including senior management, the mutual fund Board, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with securities dealers and counterparties including EM sales coverage, traders, and syndicate desks.
- May supervise, mentor, and develop EMD analysts.
Leadership Competencies
Contribute to a high-performing team, supporting a culture of shared accountability, operational excellence, and partnership across the organization. Meet your performance objectives while acting consistent with Thrivent’s leadership competencies – Model the Way, Rally the Team, and Deliver Outcomes. Support an environment in which Thrivent employees and colleagues are focused on continuous improvement, exceptional employee engagement, and an unwavering commitment to our clients. Support a culture that represents the Thrivent purpose, promise and values, ensuring that Thrivent’s trust and reputation remain strong with its clients.
But the instruction says use headings like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. They gave examples but we can also include Leadership Competencies? Not in list. Might be better to incorporate Leadership Competencies into Qualifications or Skills? However they said prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. Could combine Leadership Competencies into Qualifications or Skills. But we have Qualifications section for required/preferred education/experience. Leadership Competencies could be considered Skills. The list includes Skills as a possible heading. So we could put Leadership Competencies under Skills.
Thus sections: About the role, Responsibilities, Qualifications (including Required and Preferred), Skills (Leadership Competencies), Benefits, Pay.
We need to ensure we don't repeat job title as heading. Good.
We need to preserve all substantive information: include location (Minneapolis, MN) maybe in About the role or Additional Information. Could add a short p after About the role: "This position requires you to work on-site in Minneapolis, MN."
We need to include Pay Transparency: salary range.
Benefits: list.
We must not include EEO boilerplate etc. Remove that.
We must not include duplicated lines.
Now craft HTML.
We'll produce:
