About the role
The Buildings Division at STV provides design services to both public agencies and private corporations. Current projects include public transit, convention centers, transportation maintenance facilities, municipal buildings, and light commercial/retail spaces. Potential future projects may involve correctional facilities, law enforcement, public health, and educational buildings.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Plumbing designs, calculations, estimates, reports, and specifications for building projects.
- Conduct site surveys of existing conditions and prepare construction punch lists.
- Meet with clients to discuss project matters and make recommendations based on their needs.
Requirements
- Skills with AutoCAD, REVIT, hydraulic calculations, and specification writing.
- Familiarity with applicable building codes and cost estimating.
- Preferred but not required: LEED AP, CPD, or PE certification.
- Assisting, supervising, or mentoring team members and providing timely feedback and recognition.
- Maintaining strong client relations and ensuring project deliverables and repeat business.
- Presenting technical material effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience and/or credentials such as CPD (Certified in plumbing design).
- Minimum of 10+ years' relevant experience designing various facilities including industrial, educational, institutional, and governmental projects.
- Strong REVIT skills preferred.
- Experience with all systems associated with Plumbing design including Sanitary, Storm, Domestic Water, and Natural Gas.
- Good planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience with Fire Protection systems (Wet/Dry/Pre-action Sprinkler systems and Fire Standpipe systems) is a plus.
- Experience with industrial projects, state agency projects, and/or local municipal projects is a plus.
