Senior Playwright Automation Engineer
About The Role
As a Senior Playwright Automation Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and advancing scalable test automation solutions that improve software quality and delivery speed. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering team and work collaboratively with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and Agile teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and successful product releases.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright and Java.
- Review and optimize automation scripts to ensure code quality, maintainability, and reusability.
- Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Developers to establish comprehensive automated test coverage.
- Analyze test execution results, track defects, and communicate testing status, risks, and mitigation plans to Agile teams.
- Demonstrate end-to-end automation frameworks and showcase automation capabilities to project stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright test automation.
- Proficiency in Java programming and automation framework development.
- Experience with test design, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
- Able to collaborate effectively in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted testing tools, concepts, and automation practices.
Qualifications
- To be considered, candidates should have experience building enterprise-scale automation frameworks from scratch.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated quality engineering practices.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience presenting automation solutions and framework demonstrations to technical and business audiences.
- Knowledge of modern quality engineering and AI-driven testing approaches.

Benefits
- The annual salary for this position is between $53,477– $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
- This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.

Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $53,477– $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
Schedule
This is a hybrid position requiring 2–3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Newark, NJ. Based on the project you’re engaged in, as well as business and client requirements, the working arrangements for this role may change.
