As part of the Software Engineering Space and Air Center team, you will be an integral part of helping Raytheon further our vision to be the global leader in core and next-generation defense and security solutions. The Senior Platform Engineer will join an agile product team, leveraging both traditional infrastructure design and modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation technologies.

This job is onsite in Plano, TX; applicants must be in the area or willing to relocate to it. Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Leverage company and industry best practices to assist with deployment, implementation, modernization, and support of IaC solutions.
• Write Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to transition a system tightly coupled to underlying infrastructure to a modern platform.
• Assist with design, architecture, development, and support of build/test pipelines, optimizing integration for performance and scalability across physical or virtualized computing environments.
• Support software tool customization and automation, including deployment of templates, dashboards, and scripts using Ansible Playbooks.
• Collaborate with DT, GSS Security, software, and system engineers to design and implement development and mission solutions.
• Integrate security and compliance into the platform with services such as encryption and access management.
• Provide operational support for the platform including SIL spaces.

Requirements

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Infrastructure automation and configuration management experience using tools such as Terraform and Ansible, including Linux/Windows operating systems and virtualization technologies.
• Experience with software deployment, integration, and Agile development methodologies such as Scrum and SAFe.
• Current CompTIA Security+ or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Active and transferable U.S. government-issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CI/CD Pipeline tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Bit Bucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, GitLab).
• Background in COTS/FOSS product installation, configuration, and integration.
• Experience designing, implementing, and integrating platform infrastructure services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Multi-disciplined infrastructure experience and expertise (Server, Storage, Network Hardware).
• Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go).
• Experience troubleshooting performance, reliability, and availability issues across Linux/Windows-based platforms and infrastructure services.
• Experience with containerization using technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, Helm, Rancher.
