About the role

Join a centralized Data Platforms team within a Fortune Broadcast Media & Entertainment organization in New York, NY. As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in developing backend services and core platform components that power an enterprise-scale data platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript
  • Support the development of modular, service-oriented architecture for data ingestion, transformation, and access
  • Integrate platform services with data contracts, schema validation, metadata, lineage, and governance systems
  • Write clean, testable code with an emphasis on unit and integration testing
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
  • Participate in design and code reviews, learning and applying engineering best practices
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues in development and production environments
  • Collaborate with engineers across platform, data, and governance teams

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript (or similar backend technologies)
  • Understanding of object-oriented design, basic design patterns, and API/service development
  • Experience building or contributing to backend services or distributed systems
  • Familiarity with testing practices, including unit and integration testing
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows
  • Strong willingness to learn, ask questions, and take ownership of work
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-moving environment
  • Qualifications

    • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
    • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
    • Experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL)
    • Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes
    • Experience with version control systems (Git)
