About the role

As the Senior Plant Manager at Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, you will lead and control manufacturing operations for significant product lines within our Loveland, Colorado facility. This role oversees operations for instruments, accessories, service parts, and consumables, reporting to the Director – North American Manufacturing and part of the Global Operations and Supply Chain organization. This is an on-site position based in Loveland, Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Loveland operations team in driving policy deployment, key performance indicators, and performance across Environmental Health and Safety, Quality, Scheduling, Buying, Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Shipping, and the Danaher Business System (DBS). This includes deployment and sustaining daily management, visual management, standard work, dynamic Kanban, IMAG, Heijunka scheduling, root cause problem solving, and other DBS tools to deliver sustainable results.
  • Establish and refresh a multi-year strategic vision for the site to drive action plans, accelerate continuous improvement, and support near- and long-term business needs.
  • Develop business plans, allocate budgets and resources, and ensure staffing, tools, and specialized support for cost-effective operations.
  • Ensure customer requirements, shipment goals, business objectives, production plans, and manufacturing capacity align with demand and sales plans.
  • Drive supply chain practices to improve inventory accuracy, inventory turns, and overall operational reliability.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing operations organization that is aligned, trained, empowered, accountable, and capable of supporting operational needs.
  • Reduce standard costs through improvements in labor productivity, cycle time, expenses, overhead, scrap, and material costs.
  • Ensure associate and environmental safety through strong leadership engagement and adherence to all Environmental, Health, and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure successful new product launches by allocating resources and implementing standard work, training, and safe launch practices.
  • Drive On-Time Delivery greater than 95% to customer request date through strong value stream management across scheduling, buying, production, warehousing, and shipping.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Product Management, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Engineering teams to ensure operational execution, compliance, launch readiness, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 12+ years of experience, in manufacturing environments such as assembly, automotive, aerospace, medical devices, equipment manufacturing, or process manufacturing.
  • 8+ years in leadership roles within manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in people leadership, including leading, motivating, challenging, influencing, and driving change in a fast-moving business.
  • Experience leading manufacturing value streams in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and demonstrated success operating within a highly matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated success using continuous improvement tools and methodologies to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and associate engagement.
  • Strong leadership presence on the shop floor, with the ability to lead by example, influence with or without authority, facilitate groups with varied perspectives, and bring teams to alignment.
  • Communication skills that build productive relationships and influence others within the business and across organizations, with the ability to interact effectively with associates at all levels.
  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills, solid business acumen, and the ability to deliver results in a shifting environment.
  • Ability to identify problems, apply structured and disciplined root cause methodology using data, develop effective solutions, mitigate risk, and execute with urgency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in medical device, life sciences, diagnostics, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with FDA, ISO 13485, customer audit, or regulated quality system environments.
  • Experience with DBS, lean manufacturing, Kaizen facilitation, daily management, standard work, visual management, Kanban, or Heijunka scheduling.

Travel & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel 10%, minimum overnight for training.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50 lbs.

Pay

The annual salary range for this role is $175,000 – $200,000. This role is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
