About the role
Bolton & Menk, a top regional consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner for its Environmental Planning Work Group based in Charlotte or Raleigh, North Carolina.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support projects involving federal and state environmental reviews - including NEPA, SEPA, and related special-purpose laws
- Infrastructure and corridor planning
- Sustainability and climate resilience assessments
- Environmental compliance and permitting
- Project work spanning environmental assessments, alternatives analysis, infrastructure and transportation planning, natural and cultural resource coordination, parks and trail system planning, and policy research
- Guide environmental review strategies, development review, and policy updates
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on complex, multi-agency projects integrating natural resources, cultural resources, water resources, and community planning considerations
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the growing environmental planning team
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in urban and regional planning, urban studies, architecture, landscape architecture, or affiliated degrees
- 10+ years of progressive experience
- Thorough knowledge of planning methods and application at the local and regional level
- Experienced in agency and stakeholder involvement techniques and processes
- Experience researching methods and statistical principles related to urban growth and development
- Applied knowledge of methods and techniques of effective technical report preparation and presentations
Qualifications
