About the role

The Senior Planner position within the City of Santa Ana is responsible for providing technical expertise in urban planning, zoning, and land development. This role involves working on complex projects that impact the city's growth and development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive plans for urban development and infrastructure improvements.
• Conduct site analyses and prepare detailed reports on land use, zoning, and environmental impacts.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Manage and review applications for building permits and land use approvals.
• Provide technical support and guidance to staff and the public on planning and development issues.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in urban planning, preferably with municipal government.
• Knowledge of relevant laws, codes, and regulations governing land use and development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
