About the role

The Senior Planner is responsible for managing merchandise planning processes to ensure product availability aligns with customer demand and business objectives. This role focuses on Open-to-Buy and inventory planning to support sales targets and margin goals, involving close collaboration with merchandising and supply chain teams, maintaining accurate forecasts, and managing vendor relationships in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own Open-to-Buy for assigned departments, managing sales, inventory, margin, and turn targets
  • Maintain and update accurate forecasts in planning systems
  • Execute replenishment and order pipeline management for categories
  • Collaborate with Merchandising on assortment execution and inventory strategies
  • Lead vendor forecasting and planning meetings
  • Work closely with Supply Chain on inbound timing and inventory flow
  • Monitor weekly sales and inventory, adjusting plans as necessary
  • Support pre-season bottom-up forecasting aligned with assortment and budget goals
  • Prioritize high-volume SKUs to maximize revenue and customer experience
  • Utilize data and AI tools to improve forecast accuracy and streamline processes
  • Identify and recommend improvements in planning processes and workflows

Requirements

  • 6-8 years of experience in inventory or merchandise planning, preferably in e-commerce or retail
  • Proven ownership of Open-to-Buy at the department or category level
  • Proficiency in retail math, forecasting, and inventory planning best practices
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and trend identification
  • Experience managing vendor forecasts and communication
  • Ability to work extensively (~80%) in planning systems
  • Strong tactical execution and multitasking abilities
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Adaptability and proactive approach to process improvement
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Familiarity with AI tools to enhance planning efficiency

Pay

Starting salary range: $128,318 to $153,965 plus bonus and equity. Salary is based on location, experience, and qualifications, with performance-based increases.
