Responsibilities
- Preparation of master plans and master plan reexamination reports
- Zoning ordinances and development regulations
- Review of development applications
- Planning reports and analyses
- Redevelopment studies and plans
- Zoning ordinances
- Affordable housing plans and studies
- Review and prepare local municipal ordinances
- Perform as Project Manager for planning projects
- Prepare evaluation criteria of Municipal Planning review letters/documents
- Undertake zoning, land use and urban design evaluations
- Lead the preparation of design guidelines for open space, building form, project review and site planning
- Conduct field investigations / site visits to compile and analyze data on factors affecting land use
- Marketing proposal writing
- Attend night meetings or public engagement events
Requirements
- Required education: Degree in Planning, Architecture, or Landscape Architecture
- Minimum years of work experience: 10
- American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) Certification
- NJ Licensed Professional Planner (PP)
- Computer Skills: MS Word and Excel, Adobe Suite
- Comprehensive planning experience, with understanding of urban design and community planning principles
- Familiarity with or experience in GIS
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational skills
Qualifications
- Experience in community visioning, public outreach, and charrettes
- Understanding and experience in innovative planning, design, and zoning techniques, including form-based codes
- Experience in resiliency and sustainable planning techniques
Pay
TARGET SALARY RANGE: $100k - $120k (per year)
