Senior Pipeline Engineer
About the role
As a Senior Pipeline Engineer at EXP, you will join the Pipeline Engineering team within Energy Services, based in the Houston office. You will work on a broad range of projects in renewable energy, natural gas, or oil, contributing to innovative solutions for the world’s built and natural environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering design, provide direction, and coordinate with team members to complete project tasks.
- Manage oil and gas projects, including scheduling, cost estimating, and reporting for pipeline and pipeline facility projects.
- Apply knowledge of CFR Parts 192 and 195 to ensure compliance in oil and gas projects.
- Solve complex problems independently, including hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, pipe specifications, HDD calculations, workspace layout, alignment sheets, site-specific drawings, feasibility studies, routing, construction planning, IFB and IFC design packages, cost estimates, and material take-offs.
- Utilize CAD and GIS applications to assist in completing work deliverables.
- Coordinate with project staff such as right-of-way, environmental, and survey teams to finalize deliverables.
- Provide direction to junior and intermediate engineers and designers to complete plot plans, plan and profile drawings, site specifics, alignment sheets, HDDs, and material take-offs.
- Oversee data analysis, drawing, and mapping assignments for junior and intermediate engineers.
- Interact with clients, stakeholders, and various personnel during assigned projects.
- Implement ISO 9001:2015 quality requirements, including reviewing, documenting, validating, monitoring, and improving procedures.
- Write proposals, develop scopes, and prepare execution plans.
- Travel for field exercises, reconnaissance, field truthing, verification, and surveys as required by projects.
- Support project-specific safety plans and participate in workplace safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Previous experience working for natural gas or liquid pipeline operators or engineering consultants.
- Major project experience with pipelines and pipeline facilities (valves, traps, meters, etc.).
- Experience managing junior and intermediate engineers to complete design deliverables.
- Experience coordinating with clients or managing projects to achieve scope completion on schedule and within budget.
- Experience with scheduling, cost estimating, and reporting for pipeline and pipeline facility projects.
- Hands-on design experience, including completing design calculations, reviewing specifications and codes, providing oversight for design drawings, and approving them.
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory, with the ability to gain reciprocity in additional states as needed.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Model Law Engineer through NCEES preferred.
