About the role

The Local Media News Department at TelevisaUnivision San Antonio is seeking a Senior Photographer to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the assignment editor and newsroom manager, you will cover stories, monitor video content, and lead the news photography team.

Responsibilities

• Shoot video and audio for all platforms, edit feeds and live shots
• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the news photography team
• Manage and track newsroom photography equipment
• Develop and implement improved communication systems and operational workflows
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support
• Maintain situational awareness through public safety radio communications
• Coordinate equipment readiness and technical support for special coverage
• Maintain the LiveU satellite system on the Jeep

Requirements

• A minimum of six years’ experience as a Photojournalist in medium/major market television
• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Journalism/Mass Communications or equivalent experience
• Proficiency in English and Spanish
• High ethical and journalistic standards
• Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Knowledge of Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, and file transfer protocols
• Proactive problem-solving and leadership skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and carry heavy equipment

Qualifications

• Self-initiative to stay updated with new technologies and methods
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Valid California driver’s license with a good driving record
• Able to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
