Senior Personal Care Worker

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and/or housekeeping services to clients under the direction of agency personnel.
  • Travel to multiple clients' homes using Envida vehicles or personal vehicles as needed.
  • Establish and perform services in a professional manner.
  • Communicate appropriately with clients, caregivers, and employees.
  • Complete and maintain training on topics such as elder abuse and neglect, HIPAA, blood-borne pathogens, emergency response, communication/behavioral management, first aid, infection control, safety, and consumer rights.
  • Notify supervisors or nurses of any changes in client conditions, hospitalizations, or concerning incidents.
  • Duties may include medication reminders, blood pressure checks, bathing assistance, skin, hair, mouth care, dressing, feeding, ambulation, exercise, transfers, positioning, bladder and bowel care, respiratory care, first aid, universal precautions, infection control, hand washing, and more for personal care. For housekeeping, tasks may include cleaning, cooking, laundry, and grocery shopping.
  • Ensure documentation is completed according to agency policy.
  • Adhere to agency policies and procedures, federal, state, and local laws.
  • Aid in administering medications under the guidance of a supervising nurse.
  • Take accurate vital signs.
  • Describe the activities of daily living and demonstrate ability to assist clients in these activities.
  • Notify appropriate licensed staff when clients report pain.
  • Maintain a culture of safety and quality.
  • Additional assigned duties may include other tasks as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • CPR Certification, preferred.
  • Pass a background check, including criminal and motor vehicle history.
  • Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Proficient with smartphones and able to navigate apps.
  • A valid driver's license and auto insurance showing you as a covered driver.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Additional languages preferred.
