About the role

Candidates should have a background exhibiting an exceptional track record in design, analysis, structural calculations and detailing of façade systems, as well as experience in the project managerial process (from design assist to façade installation).

Responsibilities

• Manage complex building enclosure projects providing leadership and expertise to internal project engineering teams including establishing project teams, objectives, schedules, and management of project deliverables.
• Ability to work successfully in a collaborative team-oriented environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge
• Curtainwall / glazing system experience
• Experience with cold-formed, hot-rolled and aluminum design
• Supervise and mentor other project professionals in multiple office locations
• Experience in all phases of design, from conceptual design to construction documents
• Actively participate in technical and professional associations
• Lead, develop and further advance our engineering group
• Direct multiple projects across the group and take responsibility for the engineering calculations

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree from ABET accredited institution with a focus in structural analysis/design
• NY State Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• Knowledge of current design codes and standards, specifically within the NYC and Boston markets
• Prior experience in the construction industry
• Minimum 5 years of façade design and construction experience for senior-level candidates
• Ability to relocate and travel as necessary
• Strong people management and leadership skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated
• Software proficiency in: RISA 3D, STAAD.PRO, AUTOCAD, Revit, Rhino and Mathcad

Qualifications

Experience in the project managerial process (from design assist to façade installation), managing complex building enclosure projects, supervising and mentoring project professionals, and leading the engineering group are essential. Candidates must also have a strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge, experience with curtainwall / glazing systems, and proficiency in relevant software.
