About the role

The Senior Patient Access Representative provides operational support and guidance to the Financial Clearance Manager, ensuring accurate, efficient, and customer-focused patient registrations, insurance verification, phone coverage and interpreter coordination services across Stoughton Health.

The team serves as the first point of contact for patients and acts as a liaison between patients, providers, clinical departments, interpreter services, and insurance agencies, creating a positive first impression for patients of Stoughton Health.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Financial Clearance Manager in onboarding new members of the team
  • Provide training and support to the department with complex registrations, insurance verification, and patient access workflows
  • Promote best practices and ensure representatives' interactions with patients are consistent, professional, and compassionate throughout the patient access experience
  • Understand, perform, and fill in for all Patient Access Representative functions as needed
  • Manage staff scheduling
  • Handle issue resolution, workflow improvement, and quality monitoring
  • Provide ongoing support to the team and the Financial Clearance Manager

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent (required)
  • Associate's Degree (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting performing or supporting functions related to scheduling, registration, insurance verification, referral management, prior authorizations, coding, estimates, claims, billing or customer service

Skills

  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Intermediate Skills – able to perform fairly detailed formatting, create Word and Excel files, write formulas, and prepare applicable charts for reports

Schedule

  • Full-Time, 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
  • Monday - Friday
  • 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
