Senior Patient Access Representative
About the role
The Senior Patient Access Representative provides operational support and guidance to the Financial Clearance Manager, ensuring accurate, efficient, and customer-focused patient registrations, insurance verification, phone coverage and interpreter coordination services across Stoughton Health.
The team serves as the first point of contact for patients and acts as a liaison between patients, providers, clinical departments, interpreter services, and insurance agencies, creating a positive first impression for patients of Stoughton Health.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the Financial Clearance Manager in onboarding new members of the team
- Provide training and support to the department with complex registrations, insurance verification, and patient access workflows
- Promote best practices and ensure representatives' interactions with patients are consistent, professional, and compassionate throughout the patient access experience
- Understand, perform, and fill in for all Patient Access Representative functions as needed
- Manage staff scheduling
- Handle issue resolution, workflow improvement, and quality monitoring
- Provide ongoing support to the team and the Financial Clearance Manager
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or Equivalent (required)
- Associate's Degree (preferred)
- 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting performing or supporting functions related to scheduling, registration, insurance verification, referral management, prior authorizations, coding, estimates, claims, billing or customer service
Skills
- Basic Computer Skills
- Microsoft Office Suite: Intermediate Skills – able to perform fairly detailed formatting, create Word and Excel files, write formulas, and prepare applicable charts for reports
Schedule
- Full-Time, 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
- Monday - Friday
- 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
