About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Partner Solutions Architect (PSA) to join the AWS Partner Growth & Strategy (PG&S) team supporting Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partners in manufacturing. In this role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to strategic ISV partners, helping them architect, build, and optimize their solutions on AWS. You will drive deep technical engagement with ISV partners to imagine new product offerings, accelerate their cloud adoption, validate joint solutions, and enable go-to-market success through co-engineering efforts, technical enablement, and solution design. As a PSA in the Partner Growth & Strategy (PG&S) Organization, you will combine broad technical expertise with strong relationship-building skills to influence partner technology decisions, identify strategic wins, and deliver customer value through partner-led solutions. You will work at the intersection of partner strategy and hands-on technical delivery, bridging business outcomes with cloud architecture best practices. You will provide our partners and customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most critical challenges. Our goal is to help these partners build, go-to-market and, sell solutions leveraging AWS programs and capabilities across a range of cloud and AI services.

About the team

The team consists of partner solution architects that help AWS's strategic ISV partners build products and services on top of AWS. We each possess deep expertise in one or more technical domains relevant to our partners. We constantly innovate on behalf of partners and are passionate about learning and building joint solutions with partners as well as communicating in public forums about the business impact of technology. We help each other, grow and learn together through our work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technology strategy and senior level relationships with strategic manufacturing partners
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor for assigned ISV partners, conducting architectural reviews, POCs, and Well-Architected assessments
  • Design, build, and validate scalable cloud-native partner solutions through co-engineering efforts that drive strategic design wins (SDWs)
  • Develop reference architectures and best-practice documentation for partner solutions
  • Enable partner teams through workshops, immersion days, and hands-on training; support readiness for ISV Accelerate, Competency programs, and Marketplace
  • Collaborate with AWS field teams (Account SAs, AMs, Specialist SAs) to drive partner-led customer engagements and pipeline growth
  • Track engagement metrics, co-engineering milestones, and strategic design win attainment
  • Partner with AWS service teams to advocate for ISV requirements and influence roadmap priorities
  • Collaborate across APO on territory strategy, partner prioritization, and joint planning
  • Represent AWS at partner events and create technical content (blogs, case studies, whitepapers) showcasing partner success
  • Get hands-on building prototypes and demonstrations that communicate the functionality of AWS services
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on manufacturing, enabling field and technical teams to advise customers on adopting partner solutions that run on AWS

A day in the life

A typical day might include meeting with technical product managers at AWS or with partners, collaborating with others to build and test demonstrations and proofs of concept, and recording or writing technical content such as blog posts and papers. It might also include reading research papers to stay abreast of changes in technology that affect your partners and getting hands-on with AWS every day.

The ideal candidate

  • An inclination to get hands-on with diverse technologies to deepen understanding and create working concepts
  • Customer-facing skills that would allow you to represent AWS well with partners and customers
  • The ability to drive productive discussions with senior business and technical personnel
  • A broad and deep technical background that bolsters credibility when offering guidance to engineers and architects
  • Experience as a thought leader who can capture the attention of decision-makers through channels such as written publications, video, social media, and speaking engagements at industry conferences
  • A knack for thinking strategically across business, product, and technical domains
  • 30% travel is required

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the manufacturing field

Preferred qualifications

  • AWS certification, such as, AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following domains: access-control system and methodology, network security, application- and system-development security, security architecture and models, cryptography, and operations security
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies
  • Demonstrated experience developing enterprise application architectures to meet business requirements in complex environments
  • Large-scale systems integration involving on-premises technology and public cloud platform

Pay

  • USA, CA, Irvine: 153,600.00 - 207,800.00 USD annually
  • USA, CA, San Francisco: 176,600.00 - 239,000.00 USD annually
  • USA, MA, Boston: 153,600.00 - 207,800.00 USD annually
  • USA, NY, New York: 169,000.00 - 228,600.00 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Arlington: 153,600.00 - 207,800.00 USD annually
  • USA, WA, Seattle: 153,600.00 - 207,800.00 USD annually
