About the role
Join SeaWorld as a Painter and apply paint coatings to all surfaces needing aesthetic coloring or protection. You’ll prepare surfaces, apply coatings, and ensure excellent customer service while working in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces using power and hand tools or chemical strippers
- Fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other filler
- Select premixed paints or mix pigments, bases, and thinning substances to match specific colors
- Remove fixtures such as pictures and electric switch covers prior to painting
- Spread drop cloths and cover surfaces with masking tape and paper to protect them
- Apply coatings with brushes, rollers, or primer as needed
- Erect scaffolding or set up ladders for tasks above ground level
- Wash surfaces with mildew remover prior to painting when needed
- Perform shop paperwork, maintenance, and other assigned tasks
- Respond to customer requirements, expectations, and needs
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of related experience
- High School diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid U.S. state-issued driver’s license (out-of-state residents, active military, dependents, and students must provide a DMV report)
- Must be a driver in good standing and able to obtain a SeaWorld driver’s license
- Strong mathematical and written/verbal communication skills
- Able to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Able to operate hand or power tools necessary for assigned tasks
- Able to climb ladders and perform work at heights
- Able to train for and pass SeaWorld qualification tests for forklift and man-lift operation
- Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Able to stand, walk, and/or sit for prolonged periods
- Able to positively interact with guests and co-workers of all backgrounds and abilities
Schedule
Shift start time is typically 5:00 AM, Monday–Friday, with weekends as needed. Must be available to work Monday–Friday.
Pay
$21.50 USD hourly
