Senior Packaging Engineer
About the role
Kenvue is currently recruiting for a Senior Packaging Engineer. The ideal candidate will lead the development of new packages, including improvements and cost reductions for the Skin Health & Beauty franchise. They will be responsible for all required specifications, documentation, and package testing to support product releases. This role requires a strong technical background, creative problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and oversees validation of package components and packaging processes.
- Evaluates new package concepts and technologies.
- Leads process improvement or task teams.
- Presents packaging components to the creative design group for research and development and packaging system projects.
- Determines packaging methods and techniques and adapts standard methods to meet variations.
- Utilizes technical expertise, comprehensive work experience, and complex and diverse package engineering knowledge to generate valid creative solutions.
- Leading development of new packages, including improvement and cost reduction of existing packages for the Skin Health & Beauty franchise.
- Ensures all required specifications, documentation, and package testing are completed to support product release.
- Works independently with moderate supervision and takes a leadership role with packaging projects.
- Interacts closely with other cross-functional teams including other functions within Research & Development, Marketing, Project Management, Design, Operations, Sourcing, and Regulatory Affairs.
- Develops consumer products that delight consumers through creative problem-solving abilities, sound technical background, and a passion for packaging innovations.
Requirements
- A minimum of BS degree in Packaging, Engineering, or a related Science discipline.
- Advanced degree is preferred.
- 6 years minimum experience in Cosmetic/Personal Care or related industry.
- Knowledge of materials and processes used in construction and manufacturing of packaging such as: Extrusion / Injection molding, Dispensing systems (airless, pumps, aerosols), Paper and paperboard, Various decoration techniques, Solid understanding of a broad spectrum of packaging materials, structures, components, and related conversion processes.
- Ability to manage multiple constantly evolving priorities with minimal supervision.
- Experience in package line trials and package testing.
- Strong technical writing/documentation skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience with GMP requirements preferred.

Schedule
This role is hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work.
Pay
The annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges: $90.100,00 - $127.200,00. This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
