Responsibilities
- Grow, diversify, and engage supporters
- Draft plans for and implement engaging, nonpartisan education and outreach activities to expand awareness of our work
- Present on behalf of Common Cause at coalition meetings and other events
- Support the planning and facilitation of coalition meetings and events
- Proactively build and maintain relationships with community partners and members
- Collaborate with coalition partners to coordinate grassroots actions and advance campaigns
- Draft compelling communications for state-level campaigns in collaboration with teammates
- Cover communications on social media, websites, and email to ensure messaging aligns with our brand and values
- Engage members through digital communications (email, social media, etc.)
- Collaborate with other state staff to coordinate and manage projects and tasks within the election protection program
- Recruit, train, coordinate and mentor interns and volunteers to support our work
- Support our research, policy and advocacy work
- Support research and advocacy efforts on democracy issues, such as voting rights and civil rights
- Monitor legislative developments and identify trends and opportunities on our core issues at the state, county, and municipal levels
- Track bills relevant to our issue areas during legislative session
- Draft and coordinate resources to support public comment and testimony on key legislation
- Execute advocacy strategies
- Support fundraising and advisory board management
- Aid in fundraising efforts, including donor cultivation, grant support, and reporting for foundations and major donors
- Assist with administrative tasks for the state advisory board, including meeting coordination, logistics, and preparation of materials
- Perform other duties as assigned
