About the role
Design and develop advanced electro-optical (EO) focal plane subsystems for space applications across the electromagnetic spectrum. Responsibilities span defining system architectures, guiding design, integration, testing, and qualification of low-noise detectors, as well as developing system specifications and verification plans.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of EO focal plane subsystems for space platforms.
- Define system architectures, guide design and testing, and establish verification paths.
- Perform detailed analysis of system performance and noise characteristics.
- Collaborate with detector test teams to analyze performance parameters such as noise and signal integrity.
- Contribute to technical proposals and technology identification.
- Oversee procurement and subcontract activities, ensuring technical requirements are met.
- Maintain effective working relationships and perform related duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience; advanced degrees may substitute for experience.
- Experience in modeling, testing, and analyzing focal plane performance.
- Knowledge of mechanical packaging, thermal, and contamination control.
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on-site regularly, with potential travel.
