Senior Operations Officer (Executive Education) (Fixed term, Maternity cover)

About the role

This is an opportunity for someone looking to support the development, promotion and delivery of a suite of Executive Education programmes (Exec Ed). Participants that enrol onto these programmes will range from aspiring managers to senior executives from national and international organisations.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact and be responsible for the coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of a range of operational processes and activities which underpin the Exec Ed programmes to ensure participants are appropriately supported throughout their journey.
  • Manage programmes and provide administrative support for a range of Exec Ed activities and processes.
  • Work with limited direct supervision, using initiative, taking personal responsibility, thinking analytically and creatively solving problems using interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships and work across different faculties to deliver innovative, high quality and compliant services and support.
  • Provide management support as well as general administrative support for programmes and processes including the monitoring and resolution of participants engagement with their journey.
  • Maintain key information for participants, e.g., Moodle sites and MS teams.
  • Support local activities which focus on engaging with potential participants, attending events, organising webinars and workshops including assisting with the coordination and delivery.
  • Assist with arrangements for Exec Ed events such as welcome and induction, and communication activities.
  • Work closely with the wider team and academic colleagues.

Skills and experience

The role requires someone who can work with limited direct supervision, using their initiative, taking personal responsibility, thinking analytically and creatively solving problems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to build and maintain relationships and work across different faculties.

Pay

£29,740 to £36,446 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience.

Schedule

This is a full-time (36.25 hours per week), fixed-term position available from 1 October 2026 up to 30 September 2027. Applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Requests for secondment from internal candidates may be considered on the basis that prior agreement has been sought from both your current line manager and the manager of your substantive post, if you are already undertaking a secondment role.
