About the role

A growing investment firm is seeking a Senior Operations Associate to support and enhance its day-to-day operational functions. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong experience across financial products and trade lifecycle management, who can work cross-functionally with trading, finance, and external partners.

Job Function

  • Credit Products: Hands-on experience with HELOCs, Home Equity Agreements (HEAs), Commercial Loans, Home Improvement Loans, and Non-Qualified Mortgages (NQMs); familiarity with loan tapes, remittance reports, securitization lifecycle, and risk retention financing.
  • Structured Products: Knowledge of RMBS assets, including principal paydowns, interest flows, losses, and shortfalls; ability to interpret remittance reports and utilize Bloomberg tools (PDI, CPD, FLDS).
  • Repos: Coordinate repo trades with custodians, monitor trade flow through settlement, manage cash movements, and review margin calls.
  • Corporate Actions: Manage the full lifecycle, including document review, elections, settlement tracking, payout analysis, booking transactions, and coordinating with internal teams and fund administrators; handle proxy events and SEC NPX filings.
  • Third-Party Oversight: Partner with outsourced operations teams, provide training, and ensure quality control through review and established processes.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Finance or related degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of Whole Loan operations experience
  • Additional product knowledge spanning Equity, Bond, Mortgage-Backed Securities, Futures, Equity, FX, Repos, Futures, Options, and OTC Derivatives is a plus
  • Experience with Corporate Actions: tenders, calls, mergers, stock splits, spin-off, Dutch auction, bankruptcy exchanges etc
  • Knowledge of back-office and front-office systems: General Ledger; Reconciliation; Collateral Management; Order Management. BloombergGeneva knowledge a plus. Otherwise, proficiency with accounting software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills; proven multi-tasking ability
  • Must be detail-oriented with exceptional research, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
