Job Description

TRC is a global consulting firm providing environmentally advanced and technology-powered solutions for the oil and gas, power, and infrastructure industry. We are seeking a Senior Operational Technology (OT) Applications Engineer for the Outage Management System (OMS) Application to join our TRC Digital team. TRC Digital, a business unit within TRC, delivers IT/OT expertise and solutions to best address our client needs and has a proven track record supporting utilities in the deployment of complex operational technologies. We have broad capabilities for IT/OT project delivery while being highly specialized to meet the needs of each individual client. We are the trusted advisor and implementation partner for electric and gas utilities undergoing digital transformation and can offer deep experience across utility OT systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute system build plans accounting for software architecture, information security, and hardware deployment
  • Contribute to the planning of the overall project, and upcoming sprints
  • Ensure that all technical dependencies are covered with a plan
  • Work closely with customers to understand their operational needs, provide system training, and configuration to meet their needs
  • Implement control systems at electric utilities that improve their efficiency to operate the modern grid while ensuring contract requirements and specifications are met
  • Perform system and acceptance testing with the end customers
  • Develop scripts and other middleware solutions to integrate 3rd party systems
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and collaborate with technical experts in various domains
  • Travel to customer sites and work directly with customers to successfully deliver, test, and integrate systems
  • Ensure that the delivered solution is compliant with the contractual requirements and that any gaps is covered with a scope change agreement

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar Application Engineering role or an equivalent combination of related education and experience in a related role
  • Previous experience with products from one of the major SCADA/EMS/DMS providers including GE, OSII, ABB, AVEVA (Schneider), Siemens, etc.
  • Industry experience with SCADA, Advanced Distribution (ADMS), Outage (OMS), or Switch Order (SOM) Management Systems
  • Experience supporting critical operation or information technology systems
  • Strong work ethic including willingness to learn and investigate new technologies and problems
  • Technical understanding of networking and security, operating systems, virtual environments, and systems integration
  • Strong systems background with the ability to troubleshoot across complex systems
  • Understand concepts of big data technologies and relational databases
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Willingness to travel (25% average)

Compensation

In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee. Salary Range

USD $98,009.60 - USD $175,000.00 /Yr.
