Senior Operational Strategy Director

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Operational Strategy Director to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will shape operational strategy for clinical studies, with a strong emphasis on feasibility, budgeting, and study design support. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams and functional leaders to develop data-driven recommendations that improve delivery and align with sponsor objectives. The position also plays a visible external role, supporting client discussions and industry-facing engagements while helping mentor colleagues across the operational strategy function. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $203,200 – $304,800 annually Responsibilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop operational strategies for clinical studies Conduct data-driven analysis to support operational strategies, including site recommendations and recruitment rates Develop and review proposal text that outlines operational strategies for sponsors Create and refine study budgets in partnership with functional leadership Support project transitions and post-business development follow-up to ensure alignment with operational strategies Mentor and train colleagues in operational strategy and budgeting for clinical research Represent the organization in client meetings and industry events, providing insights on feasibility and competitive landscapes Qualifications Approximately 18 years of experience in the CRO/pharmaceutical industry or equivalent relevant experience Demonstrated competence in operational strategy analysis and budget review Strong background in clinical development focused on operational delivery, strategy, and feasibility Proven leadership and organizational skills with a focus on quality outputs Postgraduate degree preferred Benefits Health insurance Retirement savings benefits Life insurance and disability benefits Parental leave Paid time off for sick leave and vacation Discretionary annual bonus Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
