About the role
The Senior Oncology Specialist plays a crucial role as the primary customer contact for medical professionals, providing comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen's products and communicating their clinical and economic benefits. This role is dedicated to helping patients with serious illnesses, particularly those resistant to treatment, and focuses on improving patient outcomes through innovative medicines.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following-up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, ensuring product access, resolving/retrieving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Craft an effective marketing strategy to drive sales and analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, developing territory plans with your District Manager.
- Persist with passion throughout the sales cycle, building the brand, and never losing sight of how we serve patients.
- Partner with other colleagues to share best practices and continuously learn to grow as a Sr. Oncology Specialist, leveraging your passion for Oncology and disease state awareness, industry, regulatory, and competitive changes to deliver agreed results.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related, or an Associate degree and 6 years of similar experience, or a High school diploma/GED and 8 years of experience. Preferred qualifications include three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries, and experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, and inflammation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration preferred.

Skills
Knowledge of oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, and inflammation, along with local market knowledge, is essential. Passion for oncology and disease state awareness, industry, regulatory, and competitive changes are also critical.

Pay
The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is $158,727 to $177,179. Actual salary varies based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
