Senior Nuclear Quality Assurance Engineer

SHINE Technologies is seeking a Senior Nuclear Quality Assurance Engineer to oversee internal and external (vendor) oversight activities for the SHINE ANSI/ANS 15.8 Quality Assurance Program. This role also supports the Diagnostics division in implementing quality assurance procedures and establishing nuclear quality requirements. Hybrid or remote work arrangements are available, with occasional travel required for team meetings or onsite engagements.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in internal and external (supplier) audits and surveillances, including scheduling, planning, execution, and reporting.
• Review and evaluate audits, assessments, surveys, and accreditations conducted by external agencies.
• Maintain the approved supplier list.
• Support the Diagnostics division in developing and revising Quality Assurance Program implementing procedures.
• Develop quality requirements in procurement documents.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Licensing, and Operations Teams to ensure quality-affecting activities are identified and implemented.
• Obtain and maintain lead auditor status.
• Participate in industry-led and regulator-led activities related to nuclear quality assurance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, scientific discipline, or related field, or equivalent experience (e.g., Senior Reactor Operator License or Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program).
• Minimum of 5 years of nuclear quality assurance experience.
• Current NQA-1 Lead Auditor Certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of ANSI/ANS-15.8 and/or ASME NQA-1 quality standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability and willingness to travel to vendor facilities (domestic and international).
• Strong communication skills for interacting with all organizational levels, regulators, contractors, and suppliers.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

• Frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, grasping, and reaching above shoulders or below knees.
• Moderate physical activity, including handling objects up to 40 pounds or standing/walking for more than four hours per day.
• Fine motor coordination and strong depth perception beneficial.
• Moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
• Some exposure to hazards or physical risks; basic safety precautions required.

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on qualifying for access to U.S. Export-Controlled information. Applicants may also need to meet Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for Safeguards Information access, including a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting, and criminal background check.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $149,500 per year, plus a comprehensive compensation package. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Schedule

This is a hybrid position, offering flexibility to work remotely while maintaining a presence in the Janesville, Wisconsin office.
