About the role
The primary objective of this role is to support manufacturing from a test and automation perspective in the production of the Aurora's HW and delivering the benefits of self-driving technology safely, quickly, and broadly.
Responsibilities
- Support and debug software tools used in manufacturing tests and provisioning.
- Closely collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to harden and optimize automated manufacturing test procedures.
- Data management and analysis to track production test performance metrics, prioritize top issues, and drive continuous improvement activities with cross-functional teams.
- Provides technical test support to all local manufacturing areas, locations, and customers as needed.
Requirements
- B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in data collection with electronic test equipment and data-acquisition systems.
- Prior verification, validation, and testing experience with emphasis on debugging skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication of test status and results, including writing formal test reports/records.
- Experience in manufacturing test development and sustaining efforts at scale.
- Ability to read design drawings/wiring schematics.
- Excellent analytical abilities, technical writing ability, and a comprehensive understanding of problem-solving.
- Experience programming in Python is required.
- Experience with Linux operating systems.
- Experience with Google Suite, JIRA, JAMA, and GIT.
- Able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- International travel to CM for on-site bring-up and support.
Qualifications
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering (with mechatronics experience), a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with data aggregation.
- Familiarity with FMCW LiDAR and/or RF transceivers.
- Experience with optical system prototyping and characterization.
- Experience in modern automotive electronics and diagnostic procedures.

Benefits
- Base salary range: $135,000 - $216,000 per year.
- Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
- Annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $135,000 - $216,000 per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions.
Schedule
Aurora operates in a hybrid work environment where Aurorans are in office at least 3 days per week.
