Senior Network Solutions Engineer
Location: Remote - Northeast U.S. Travel: Regional customer travel as needed
About the role
A fast-growing, privately held IT solutions provider with nearly 30 years in business is looking for a Senior Network Solutions Engineer to support customers throughout the Northeast. This company works with leading technology manufacturers and delivers infrastructure, networking, security, cloud, and data center solutions to commercial, enterprise, and public-sector organizations nationwide.
This is a hybrid pre-sales and post-sales focused role where you’ll work across the full customer lifecycle—from technical discovery, solution design, proposals, and presentations through implementation, migration, configuration, and troubleshooting. You’ll have the opportunity to work on complex Cisco enterprise networking projects while remaining hands-on and working closely with customers, sales, engineering, and company leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery calls, customer meetings, and solution workshops
- Design enterprise networking solutions across routing, switching, wireless, LAN/WAN, and SD-WAN
- Develop technical architectures, bills of materials, proposals, and scopes of work
- Support RFP/RFI responses and present solutions to technical and executive stakeholders
- Implement, configure, migrate, and troubleshoot Cisco networking environments
- Support network refreshes, upgrades, migrations, and new deployments
- Work closely with sales, engineering, project management, and customer teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide technical guidance and maintain strong customer relationships from initial discovery through implementation
Requirements
- Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise Cisco networking solutions
- Hands-on expertise across routing, switching, wireless, LAN/WAN, and SD-WAN
- Experience supporting both pre-sales solution design and post-sales implementation
- Strong customer communication, discovery, presentation, and documentation skills
- Background with a VAR, MSP, systems integrator, consulting firm, or similar customer-facing environment
- Ability to independently lead technical sales conversations and project delivery
- CCNA required; CCNP or CCIE preferred
- Based in the Northeast, ideally NY, NJ, CT, or Eastern PA
- Ability to travel regionally for customer meetings and implementations as needed
