About the role

We are looking for an experienced network engineer to focus on our corporate end-user networks and end-user experience. You will be the driving force behind our office LAN and wireless infrastructure, ensuring that from the moment an employee opens their laptop, their connection is fast, secure, and rock-solid. In this role, you will work with end users, NOC and network engineering, and the End User Experience Team including local IT, to proactively monitor end-user network experience, support local and remote user issues, and advocate for end-user needs.

Upcoming project work includes assisting with the migration to new VPN models and solutions, so familiarity with next-generation firewalls and access models is a big plus. This position will be hybrid, with the expectation you will typically work three days a week in our flagship Manhattan office, and act as a liaison for senior management who work there.

Responsibilities

  • Bridge the gap between end users and core network engineering, act as an escalation point for NOC and helpdesk issues, and communicate network maintenance and changes
  • Manage our corporate Wi-Fi networks, including tuning access points, addressing RF issues, and monitoring capacity
  • Handle mid-to-senior level network administration, including core networking, routing protocols, DNS/DHCP
  • Troubleshoot network issues with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Work with authentication protocols such as 802.1x, NAC, RADIUS, EAP-TLS, and understand considerations for their use
  • Assist with a company-wide firewall refresh project, including migrating end-user VPN solutions and strategy (experience with SD-WAN, SASE, ZTNA is a plus)

Requirements

  • 10-15 years of recognized expertise in network engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; specialized certification is a plus
  • Familiarity with vendors such as Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, or Fortinet
  • Works proactively, communicates with internal customers and peers, reports problems, and suggests improvements
  • Advocates across infrastructure teams and manages moderately-sized projects inside the team
  • Communicates complex concepts, anticipates potential objections, and influences others to adopt a different point of view

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health and wellness plans
  • 401(k) with a Nielsen company match
  • Generous paid time off policy
  • Depending on the role, additional benefits may include a company-provided vehicle and/or discretionary incentive/bonus eligibility

Pay

The posted base salary range is a reasonable estimate that may be adjusted based on the final work location of the selected employee. Individual pay within the range is determined by factors such as experience, training, geography, certifications, and business needs. Beyond base salary, this role may be eligible for bonuses, equity, or other incentives.

Schedule

This position is hybrid, with the expectation you will typically work three days a week in our flagship Manhattan office.
