Responsibilities
- Responsible for a large WAN environment, involving multiple networks and data centers, ensuring maximum availability and capacity while ensuring adequate security
- Support network administration of a 24x7 infrastructure; participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
- Perform troubleshooting analysis of problems with network infrastructure
- Manage network user access and permissions
- Manage network systems back up
- Document network problems and resolution for future reference
- Maintain network diagrams and documentation
- Generate and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records
- Monitor network performance, and implement performance tuning
- Apply knowledge of firewalls and intrusion detection systems
- Provide prompt communication and status reports on critical activities
- Ensure proper security practices are followed in accordance with established IT policies and procedures, PCI and SOX Compliance
- Install, and configure VOIP phones
- Troubleshoot desktops connectivity issues for new users
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 6+ years of network administration/engineering experience required
- Experience troubleshooting and tuning WLAN networks
- Solid in WAN/LAN and transport technologies (Ethernet, MPLS, TDM circuits)
- Ability to work with logical design models (Spanning tree, VTP, VLANs, physical cabling)
- Knowledge of network protocols (CoS, PoE, NTP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP,VPC), network management protocols (CDP, TFTP, SNMP) and security protocols (SSH, HTTPS/SSL, AAA, IPSec)
- Technical expertise in: Firewall, IPS, SSL, VPN, malware defense, web content filtering, Zscaler SASE, Cisco and Palo Alto firewall Administration, Palo Alto Prisma, Routing, Switching, WLANNetworking: Switches, Routers, VPN, Servers, Firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, Latency, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, PPP, MPLS
