Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, design, document, install, implement, test, perform problem isolation and resolution, monitor, tune, and set standards for network operations.
- Maintain a complex range of computer network components and systems.
- Utilize monitoring and performance analysis tools, network management software, and hardware equipment to troubleshoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace data and protocol activity.
- Devise solutions to complex operational problems within the constraints of installed equipment.
- Aid in developing and delivering internal training programs.
- Meet regularly with other network team members to plan and coordinate efforts, resolve cross-team issues, and communicate changes.
- Collaborate with several projects' requirements across a vast array of equipment.
Job Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 10+ years of related experience.
- Technical Skills: Comprehensive technical knowledge of all phases of network operations; proficiency in evaluating network performance and solving complex networking problems; excellent communication skills, including effective listening, tact, and follow-through; capability to provide clear written documentation on network procedures; ability to collaborate effectively with staff from other sections on complex client/server issues; ability to offer practical and effective solutions within system and budget constraints; detail-oriented and organized, with strong assessment skills for network evaluation criteria; adherence to network protocols and methodologies; technical proficiencies in Cisco, Juniper, and other types of switches and routers, Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX-OS, VMware, ASA, VPN, NAT, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, numerous test sets, telecommunications equipment, VoIP, Cisco Call Manager, Intrusion Detection Systems, Snort, SolarWinds, Splunk.
Required Clearances
- Secret clearance required to start, must be able to obtain TS/SCI.
