Senior Network Engineer

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems.
• Designs, supports, and manages a multi-zone network architecture.
• Maintains network connectivity and ensures high quality data transmission.
• Analyzes local and wide area network systems, to include testing.
• Solves complex interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms.
• Configures communication media with routers, switches, firewalls, and other devices.
• Configures routine systems to user environments.
• Participates in planning, researching, evaluating, designing, and developing plans for network systems.
• Provides technical support to various departments and users.
• Provides Windows and Linux systems administration support.

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
• Current Security+ CE Certification (or other 8570 IAT-II/III Baseline Certification).
• Current or previously held Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Associate certification, or certificate of completion.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with Windows Server administration.
• Experience with Vulnerability Management.
• Active Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of SolarWinds, ACAS, Palo Alto Firewalls.
• Knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine and 802.1X.
• Knowledge of layer 2 switching, such as access interfaces or 802.1q trunking.
• Experience with Static, Dynamic, and Layer 3 routing.
• ITIL knowledge.
• Experience working with cross-functional test labs setting up test exercises.
