Senior Network Engineer
This position does not offer visa sponsorship now or in the future, including OPT/STEM status. Relocation support is available for eligible candidates. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the office location (35-mile radius for Boston) and work a minimum of 10 days per month from one of the following offices: Madison, WI 53783 or Boston, MA 02110.
About the Role
The Senior Network Engineer will collaborate with others in the division to provide and maintain applications that meet business needs. This role involves software design and development for moderate to complex business solutions, providing technical guidance and leadership for specific applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, planning, and implementation of network solutions to meet organizational needs, including evaluating current systems and recommending improvements.
- Oversee network maintenance, ensuring optimal performance, diagnosing and resolving network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Implement and manage network security measures to protect data and systems from unauthorized access or attacks.
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and performance metrics, and provide regular reports to management.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for procurement and maintenance of network equipment and services.
- Stay updated with the latest network technologies and trends to continuously improve network infrastructure and processes.
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of network topologies, protocols, and technologies such as LAN, WAN, and VPN.
- Ability to design, deploy, and manage Cisco SD-WAN solutions across multiple sites.
- Ability to design, deploy, and manage Cisco Meraki and WiFi networks.
- Ability to design, implement, and manage Cisco ACI environments.
- Ability to configure and manage routers, including setting up routing protocols, access control lists (ACLs), and network interfaces.
- Ability to manage and configure Infoblox DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI) solutions.
- Experience using Python for automating network tasks and scripts for configuration management.
- Expertise in using Ansible and Terraform to automate network device configuration and ensure consistent deployment.
- Familiarity with cloud-based networking services such as AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, and Google Cloud VPC.
- Ability to use GitLab for collaborative development, including CI/CD pipelines, issue tracking, and project management.
- Knowledge of application development methodologies (e.g., Agile) and product-based teams.
Pay
Compensation range: $99,000.00 - $167,000.00 (salary). Compensation may vary based on job level and geographic work location.
Schedule
- Travel requirements: Up to 10%.
- This is a flex office/home role, requiring a minimum of 10 days per month in the office.
