Senior .NET Software Engineer (contract)
About the role
In this contingent resource assignment, you will consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering. You will review and analyze complex, multi-faceted, larger-scale, or longer-term Software Engineering challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented factors. You will contribute to resolving complex situations with a solid understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to meet deliverables. Additionally, you will strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
Responsibilities
- Consult on complex Software Engineering initiatives with broad impact.
- Analyze and resolve multi-faceted, large-scale, or long-term Software Engineering challenges.
- Collaborate with client personnel to meet deliverables.
- Develop RESTful APIs, services, batch processes, integrations, or backend application components.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across application code, database logic, and runtime environments.
Requirements
- Software Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work, consulting, training, military experience, or education.
- Professional software development experience, including strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET application development.
- Strong experience designing and developing database-driven applications using SQL Server or comparable relational database platforms.
- Proficiency with database programming concepts, including stored procedures, functions, indexing, query optimization, transactions, and data modeling.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, design patterns, and software development lifecycle practices.
- Experience with source control systems such as Git and modern development workflows, including branching, pull requests, and code reviews.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
