About the Role
We are seeking a Senior .NET Integration Developer to design, develop, maintain, and support integrations between internal applications and external systems. This role requires strong hands-on technical skills, production troubleshooting experience, and the ability to independently deliver reliable integration solutions. You will own third-party integrations end-to-end: building and supporting them, working with clients and partners on setup and issues, and helping migrate existing scheduled integration jobs to a more stable job-processing platform.
Responsibilities
- Integration Development
- Design, develop, and maintain .NET-based integrations and RESTful APIs.
- Develop and support integrations between internal applications, services, databases, and external systems.
- Work with external APIs, webhooks, SFTP, web services, file-based integrations, and other integration mechanisms.
- Implement data transformation, validation, error handling, retry mechanisms, and logging.
- Configure and maintain firm- or partner-specific mappings, credentials, and integration settings.
- Job Platform & Migration
- Support existing scheduled integration jobs currently running across mixed platforms.
- Help migrate those jobs to a more reliable job-processing platform (such as Hangfire), including scheduling, retries, monitoring, and failure alerting.
- Improve reliability by reducing silent failures, duplicate runs, and hard-to-support job wrappers.
- Maintain and improve automated notifications related to job success, failure, and operational status.
- Production Support
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production and integration issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
- Analyze application logs, API responses, database records, and integration workflows to identify issues.
- Work with infrastructure teams, vendors, and external partners to resolve issues spanning multiple systems.
- Client & Partner Communication
- Participate in client meetings to understand integration requirements, troubleshoot issues, and communicate technical solutions.
- Communicate directly with clients and external partners regarding integration setup, API requirements, testing, issues, and deployment activities.
- Lead technical onboarding for new integrations, including gathering requirements, coordinating testing, and supporting go-live.
- Prepare clear and professional email communications for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Coordinate with clients and internal teams to track integration issues, dependencies, and action items.
- Translate technical details into clear business-friendly explanations when working with clients.
- Technical Development
- Participate in technical design and architecture discussions.
- Perform code reviews and follow established coding and security standards.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Create and maintain technical and operational documentation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, with significant experience developing applications and integrations.
- Strong hands-on experience with .NET / .NET Core, C#, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience developing and supporting internal and external integrations.
- Experience working with third-party/external APIs and authentication mechanisms.
- Strong understanding of HTTP, JSON, XML, and common integration patterns.
- Experience with MS SQL Server, MySQL/MariaDB, or equivalent relational databases.
- Proficiency with Git and source code repository practices.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience troubleshooting production applications and performing root cause analysis.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with clients, external partners, or business stakeholders on technical projects or integrations.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and communicate technical issues, requirements, solutions, and project status.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Hangfire or similar background-job / scheduling platforms.
- Experience migrating scheduled jobs, console apps, or legacy batch processes to a modern job platform.
- Experience with Salesforce or other enterprise / case-management platforms.
- Experience with document management or document-based integrations.
- Experience with SFTP and file-based integrations.
- Experience with AWS services such as S3, EFS, SES, SNS, Lambda, or EC2.
- Experience modernizing or migrating legacy applications to modern .NET.
- Experience working with legacy Java applications.
- Working knowledge of Linux environments.
- Experience with automated testing and application monitoring.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar tools.
Core Competencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Professional and confident communication with clients and external partners.
- Strong hands-on development and integration skills.
- Advanced troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
- Strong understanding of API design and integration patterns.
- Ability to independently solve complex technical problems.
- Strong focus on code quality, reliability, security, and maintainability.
